Wirikuta is a sacred land for Wixarika (huicholes) people, it's a natural reserve and very important for our country, it has 140 thousand hectares that belong to mexican's entity. One of their most important traditions is pilgrimage to wirikuta from october to march, ths is really special to them, it is magical, mystical and unique for them. it's a way of keeping the tradition of their creation, nature and their gods.
The problem with this tribe is that Mexico has given permission to some Canadian mining industries so they want to use all their natural resources in 59,678 hectares of Wirikuta's natural reserve, so this industries will finish with almost all the resources and polute rivers and lakes.

1.- This land has being sacred and property of Wixarika people, not canadians.
This land is a natural reserve from Mexico
Canadians want to make use of all this natural resources.
2.-If Canadians really make this project, this tribe will lose their whole traditions, culture, homes, and many other things, because they will take away everything they have and belong to.
In the industries' side, they are obviously getting money and benefits for their jobs.
3.-Some alternatives are looking for other terrains and lands (far away from there) to use so these industries can do their job without hurting and destroying Wirikuta's land.
Another can be dennying this Canadian project because Mexico should not let foreigners destroy our lands and fields (and our culture and tribes)
4.- I think Mexico should act "decently and in an intelligent way" so they can deny this project that can destroy a really precious tradition that Mexico has and also one of our beautiful natural reserves
So I personally think that our culture, traditions and biodiversity are many of the things that define our nation and makes us unique from other countries, so as a united country, we should support each other and preserving nicely and safe our land.
